The Abercrombie’s have a dairy in Morgan County and have given me the opportunity of coming to their farm a couple of times to make some portraits for them. I learned several things while at the farm:
1. I grew up in the country but fail miserably as a country boy
2. My knowledge of dairy cows is extremely limited
3. A 2002 Toyota Camry is not equipped for farm roads
4. I now know where the brisket is on a cow
The cow is named Oreo…..I didn’t ask why. ****Update****After I initially posted this session Carrie left me a comment with all the details about Oreo. They told me all this but I couldn’t remember all the details. Carrie said, “Oreo was named by a bunch of 3rd grade students who were on a farm field trip. She was being displayed at the Morgan County Young Farmer’s Field Day and all the kids wanted to know what her name was and…….she didn’t have one yet. So they said she looked like an Oreo and we tagged her with that name. Ali has worked countless hours with her and she is the ultimate trooper…honestly perking up when she hears Ali’s voice!!:)” Thanks for reminding me Carrie! I was kind of joking too since I thought it was pretty obvious why they would have named her Oreo!
I was honestly amazed at the fact that she sat there….calmly….and let everyone gather around her for a photo. Amazing. Wilson won’t even do that.

Thanks for the opportunity to photograph you guys again!!
