Dawson and Sydney

Dawson, Sydney, and the rest of the Newton family have had a busy year.  On May 19th of this year Sydney was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma.  You can read more about Sydney in this blog post I wrote earlier this year.  You can also see her Caring Bridge page here.

After our shoot I was talking with Cynthia and Jamie (Mom and Dad)  about the decision to make photos while Sydney is sick.  Cynthia admitted that there are mixed feelings about shooting while Miss Sydney is fighting this disease but she did want these photos taken.  As we talked I told her what a good decision I thought it was.  When we are going through things in life….good and bad….we rarely take the time to document them as we should.  There are many memories I have that only exist as that….a memory.  Think about all the memories in your life that you wish you had a picture from.    Will you always want to look at that memory….probably not.  But at least you’ll have the option.

Sydney and Dawson were in typical form….hilarious.  I didn’t have the baby whisperer with me so I had to do some pretty slick toy on head balancing to make up for her absence.   Sydney did give me a joke to use in the future…..”How do you make a kleenex dance?  Put a little boogie in it!”  I love me some booger humor.

Oh…and I challenge you to look at the last photo without smiling.
